Anchoring your canoe…If you spend much time
fishing from a canoe, especially in moving water, you’ll find an anchor really
helpful. Essex Industries makes a quick
release anchor outrigger system that is easy to mount and transfer from boat to
boat. It allows one handed operation of
an anchor and eliminates the need to tie off the anchor rope. Naturally, you can permanently mount the
system if you want, and that actually streamlines the arrangement and lightens
the load. Cost is $46…and does not
include anchor or rope.
Several of us use these and they
work quite well. Anchor Tip: Instead of transporting an anchor, take a
mesh bag and when you get to the river put rocks in it. When you’re through using it…dump out the
rocks.
